The Acropolis
Taken from the beginning of my bus tour.
The Acropolis
Temple of Zeus
This huge temple was begun by the Greeks but never finished until the Roman Emperor Hadrian completed it.
Hadrian's Gate
This gate separated the Greek agora from the section built by Hadrian.
The Olympic Stadium
Built for the 2004 Summer Olympics of the XXVIII Olympiad on the site of the original modern Olypics -- the I Olympiad in 1896. Of course the ancient Olympics were always held at Olympia in southern Greece.
Athena
This modern statue is on the campus of the University of Athens.

Lunch
Supper
The Parthenon
After supper I went to the hotel's rooftop lounge where these pictures were taken.

The Acropolis
Greek Flag
The Greek flag flies on the Acropolis
Lycabetus Hill
At least I think that is what this is. Rome may have seven hills, but Athens is very hilly. This was taken from my hotel with an extreme telephoto lens.

Solar Energy
These are on top of most buildings. I am not sure whether they are solar hot water heaters or solar batteries.
